flooring professor home page

The Flooring Professor Rating System was designed to simplify your use of the information we bring to you. We know you have a busy life and could spend virtually all of it studying and learning and reading web pages like the many that are part of this site. So please take note of the rating icons listed below as they will be shown any time we expose you to a specific product, supplier, retailer, installer, designer, cleaning and maintenance professional, or any other flooring entity or product.

We hope you will find this very unique approach as simple to understand as we intend. Use it to your advantage, it will save you tons of time and effort in your research! Happy hunting for all things Flooring!!!

Please note that in all except the "preferred partner" and "not rated" levels the "1", "2", and "3" sub-levels (1 being low and three being high) allow us to spend time researching and getting feedback on new products and services and moving them "up" in the rating system without having to give them the status of the next "letter" level too early before they deserve it! (I know , I know. the entire industry tells us how harsh we are on them, but it's all to protect YOU!!)

       "Professor Approved"

This level means we have done basic research, have inspected the product or checked at least one reference in the case of dealer/service providers. That will get them an A1 which means they have "barely met" our bare minimum standard at this point but we are optimistic that over time this product or service will prove itself. When you see an A2 it means we have had time to get more feedback and references etc...and our overall confidence in the rated item is increasing...and so on.. (this level could consist of a product OR an entity)

             "Professor Certified"

This level means we have put this vendor, supplier, dealer, service provider through the certification process. This means they have met the approval requirements, PLUS they have given us the necessary communication and credentials that we are very confident in this entity's commitment to the high level of customer service that we demand! (this will be only entities, not ever a product we do not "certify" products)

             "Professor Recommended"

This level means we have some real life experience with this product or have had enough feedback from our own network or our consumer network to get behind these products or entities and recommend them with complete confidence! (this level can be a product OR an entity, and you Cannot go wrong choosing in this level in our opinion!)

                                  "Preferred Partner"

This Level is the cream at the top, make no mistake to even get an "approved" rating a product or service has to be worthy. But once they get to this level we can safely say, we have been working with these products or services with Great Success!! and they are the ones we "prefer" to deal with daily which means in a nutshell they usually "exceed" even our expectations. Some of these products or services we have dealt with for a number of years. This is the TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!

(you won't see this often) "Not Rated"

ON occasion you may see a banner ad for which we do not control the exact content and/or  have not necessarily rated the entity connected. *note this is NOT necessarily a negative rating, it just means either someone else controls the ad or another similar situation. OR it means we are in the process of rating but the outlook seems to be favorable so we bring it to you so you can see it as soon as it is available! Certainly much additional research on your own would be in order.

****Note that in ALL cases where you see "ads by google", "ads by yahoo", "sponsored links" and the like these are ads that are controlled by Google, yahoo or another entity and we make no specific recommendations so these are ALWAYS an "NR" Rating *****

Well there it is our way of saying thank you for years of great flooring experiences by sharing what those real life experiences have taught us to make your life easier when it comes to anything flooring!!!!
