There are a number of bamboo flooring accessories available to round out your bamboo floor project. As always the flooring professor is here to educate and guide you through what they are, which ones may be best for your project and why they are not all the same. Avoid getting misinformation from those who have their own agenda and get the straight facts based on centuries of combined experience.
When having your new floor installed if you have in the floor heat or cold air return vents you can purchase coordinating covers to go with your new bamboo floor. This is a little costly to get premium quality products (and we will show you why that is crucial!) but it is worth the investment as your finished project will look spectacular!
If you are doing main areas of your home with bamboo flooring and have a stairway some manufacturers now offer bamboo stair treads and riser material to round out the job. This is a beautiful and functional option for covering your stairs and coordinates nicely with your new bamboo floor to make an otherwise ordinary job look fabulous!
Of course as with any other hard surface flooring product basic transition pieces are available to coordinate with your new floor. The standards are as follows:
reducer (to go from bamboo to a flooring product that is lower in height)
stair nosing (to finish at top step or around edges of landings or balconies)
T molding (to go from bamboo to a flooring product that is of equal height)
threshold (to go from bamboo to carpet for example)
These trim or transition pieces usually fit the bill either as manufactured or with a little creative field fitting for most all applications. On rare occasions when they do not work or cannot be adapted to work on the job we have custom produced trims out of wood and coordinated color and grain as closely as possible with satisfactory results.
Very few, but some of the more versatile manufacturers offer baseboard and other molding options as well as panels and other bamboo based building materials. this is not common, but we can help you round out your job in style if you wish to know about these specialty bamboo flooring accessories. Of course things such as cleaning kits, touch-up and repair kits, and floor protectors are some other necessary bamboo flooring accessories that are available as well.
