Find flooring professionals you can trust

The best source to find flooring professionals you can trust is the flooring professor!

HOW is this resource different than any other?

Simple...because nearly all other directories, listings, or resources are merely lists. Please do not misunderstand, sometimes lists are useful (like when you are getting ready to shop for groceries!) But lists of flooring suppliers But our listings are unique in that all listings must meet stringent screening criteria before they will appear on our listing. We will also rate within the listings based on our vast experience and research of the supplier. If you see a "professor recommended" or "preferred partner" rating they have already PROVEN themselves to meet our high standards, so you can relax, have fun, and shop with confidence!!

Why is this better for me?

If you have tons of time and can spend countless hours researching all the information that is available for flooring suppliers, then spend more countless hours selecting who on staff at said suppliers may be the most knowledgeable or helpful, then you could spend more time yet on researching the actual products you may consider buying (while still second guessing if you are talking to the right people in the first place). Then you will likely want to "check out their story" and shop at least 2 more....Then of course if you have not passed out form exhaustion you may be concerned now about who will be installing the product you worked so hard to pick out...WHEW!!!

RELAX!!!....WE have a better IDEA....

LET US DO ALL THE HARD PART and you enjoy selecting the styles, colors and designs of flooring that will make your home into the comfortable and inviting place you dream of for your family and friends!

Before we get started, please take a moment..

To understand why this step in the process is so very important. Regrettably, our research shows that sometimes as an industry, the flooring industry falls short. One area of our concern is the training and knowledge of the sales staff in many stores. Please do not misunderstand, there are many true professionals in our business that are second to none. But as a whole the percentages of those we find that are either not well trained/informed, or are working for companies who's customer service leaves much to be desired is staggering if not downright embarrassing.

We at The flooring professor are striving to improve that problem in two ways, by educating the consumer, and by educating the poorly trained or refining the training on the already top notch pros in our business. We will help you find flooring professionals that will make your experience a pleasant one.

Here's the main problem.  If you as a consumer talk to individuals or companies who give you wrong information (not necessarily intentional, but wrong none the less.) you cannot possibly make the right choices, which in turn sets up almost guaranteed disappointment.

If you get clear unbiased and accurate information however you have a pretty good chance of being satisfied with your decision and enjoying your purchase for years to come.

There are so many things that could affect your overall satisfaction if you are not given the right information such as..

  • wrong product for your application resulting in product failure

  • unrealistic expectation of manufacturers warranty resulting in total dissatisfaction

  • a lifetime of maintaining or cleaning a floor which was described to you as "maintenance free"

  • staring at and feeling your blood boil as you see fine scratches in your laminate floor after the salesman said "this stuff is bullet proof" and proceeded to beat on it and scratch it with a coin until you said  "i'll take it"

  • poor installation quality from a dealer who does not understand the value of this part of the business.

  • no back up or warranty on the installation (for example because the installer left town so did your warranty)

  • giving thousands of dollars of your hard earned money to a kid who knows more about which aisle to find the drywall screws in than how to help you select just the right flooring product

  • getting a product that looks nothing like the sample you saw in the store

  • installing your own floor improperly because you could not find adequate information or support from where your product was purchased from.

  • we could go on and on, but you get the point I am sure...all fun aside this is a serious and important part of making a flooring purchase there are so many these days trying to commoditize flooring purchases and it is our belief that the consumer does not want that when it comes right down to it.

Some of this is about having an understanding of the difference between the best price and the best value (you will see this referenced often on this site and it is a key value of our method in everything we do.) Please do not underestimate the value of finding flooring pros to handle your project!

OK.. OK enough of our philosophy on how our business needs us to clean it up...

Now let's get started....

Since we do not know if you have started the process yet, or if you already have flooring and are seeking care and cleaning professionals, please begin by selecting one of the choices below...

I am looking for a...

  • Local Flooring Dealer

  • Online flooring Supplier (be sure to read "buying flooring online")

  • Local flooring Installation professional

  • Local flooring repair specialist

  • Local carpet cleaning professional

  • Local cleaning professional for my hard surface floors

  • inspector/claims specialist

  • I am an industry insider and looking for other than those above
