When considering a purchase of a laminate flooring product over some other products, it's ease of maintenance should certainly be a consideration. Below we have provided you with an overview of general laminate floor care procedures and techniques as well as recommendations of the proper products to use.

As in ALL recommendations we make, they are based on our many years of hands on experience and will always be good solid advice. However, IF you follow the ways of the flooring professor you will likely know what brand of floor you own and know that we always recommend fully understanding your manufacturers laminate floor care requirements and always stay within those requirements in order to maintain your warranty coverage. General laminate flooring care and cleaning involves first removing loose debris from the surface of your floor. Obviously larger items can be picked up and removal of other smaller loose particles can be done in a number of ways. Most of the well known methods can be used safely for cleaning laminate flooring such as a traditional dust mop, a broom and dustpan, or a vacuum WITH a hard surface cleaning attachment. Any of these methods should certainly be acceptable for your laminate floor care.

The deep cleaning method of cleaning laminate flooring involves "wet" cleaning. this method of wet cleaning can be done a number of ways. But the safest and most common is a mopping method with a special type of mop and laminate (or general hard surface) floor cleaner from a standing position.

There are a variety of mop kit brands available today and some work much better than others. We advise that you use one of our recommended floor care kits. Be sure whatever method you use that you NEVER saturate your laminate flooring product with an excessive amount of water. This also holds true when wet cleaning any other "wood based" flooring product.

Stain removal on laminate floors is less often discussed than on carpets because there are very few things that will stain laminate floors. Although there are things that will stain your laminate flooring, each has a unique method to attempt to remove it. We have included a generic stain removal guide for each type flooring in this site. We do suggest however that you ALWAYS verify the manufacturers position before using any methods that may void your warranty. insider help in this area is available in our informative flooring care and cleaning guide

Again, please be assured of how simple laminate floor care is when considering the purchase of a new laminate floor. We have sold and installed WELL into the hundreds of thousands of square feet of laminate flooring and trust us when we say it is quite easy to care for.
