Linoleum flooring care and cleaning

Genuine linoleum flooring care and cleaning consists of a somewhat unique maintenance program with characteristics similar to wood. Linoleum is tough and durable but susceptible to moisture and alkalinity. In order to produce its best appearance and to protect it from dirt and excess moisture, linoleum should be cleaned and polished with products intended for use on genuine linoleum. The major linoleum manufacturers offer products specifically designed to maintain residential linoleum.

Basic floor cleaning instructions

We recommend that you use a g
enuine linoleum floor cleaner that is specially developed for genuine linoleum floors. The flooring professor can help you find the best resources to get the cleaner you need, this will be very easy if you are enrolled in our consumer floor care and maintenance program. We will also recommend a cleaning product for you to use in your linoleum flooring care and cleaning program if you do not know which brand your floor is.

Instructions for regular cleaning

You should first s
weep or vacuum your floor thoroughly to remove debris. Then mix 1/4 cup cleaner per gallon of COOL water and proceed to wash with lightly dampened mop (do not OVER saturate). We recommend that you also be sure to change your cleaning solution frequently. When you have finished the entire floor allow the floor to dry for as long as is necessary.

*************PLEASE NOTE***********

These cleaners are different than regular floor cleaners and can contain some pretty potent ingredients so please be sure to read any Warnings on the label of any product that you use.
